I had a similar experience with one of those new video display gas pumps. I get out of the car to fill up the tank for my mom using her card, so I already have to remember the pin and if it's credit or debit, etc.. When suddenly the thing starts yelling at me about some irritating pop-culture "news" and begins blaring ads and tasteless music. Needless to say I became very distracted and agitated and had to ask my mom what her pin number was about four times and even selected the wrong fuel type as well. My mom became frustrated with me and had to take over. It's safe to say that I won't be going to those types of gas stations when I start driving. Sorry for the long post.
Love it! I us public transportation, but it's just as easy to become overwhelmed, even on the "quiet ride" train car. Folks don't know what "quiet" means anymore!

ReplyDeleteYes! That was my experience as well. I won't be giving them my business.

ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteArgh, I hate those so much!
ReplyDeleteI never saw them in my area until recently, but apparently they've been around awhile. Hopefully they won't become the norm.
DeleteLike your cartoons "Dude", and am adding your blog site, to my list of safe sites for People on the Spectrum and People Who Love Them.
ReplyDeleteI've got "signifiers" for each site, and I named yours "Dude, I'm an Aspie" for "Do you Like Cartoons?".
I like cartoons, but I like words even better as you might find if you visit my blog. Some of the words might seem just "a little" strange, too. :)
Thanks Kate, I like both cartoons and words. It's always good to hear from new voices on the spectrum.
DeleteGood to find yours too, Matt. Thanks.
DeleteLove this, and hate those talking pumps.
